COURSE OVERVIEW.
This SCQF Level 7 Credit Rated 5 Day course is designed to deepen understanding of legionella control, legal obligations, and best practices, this training builds on experience gained in Competent Person roles.
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
- Understand the nature of legionella and related bacteria, including transmission and outbreak prevention.
- Plan, record, and supervise all remedial works while ensuring safe working practices.
- Oversee statutory and non-statutory requirements, ensuring full compliance and best practice within their organisations.
- Assess and manage water systems to reduce bacterial growth risks through proactive monitoring, sampling, and disinfection.
- Interpret and apply both legislative and guidance documents relevant to water hygiene.
Who is This Course For?
This program is aimed at individuals who either serve in, or aspire to serve in, an Authorised Person capacity for water hygiene in healthcare or non-healthcare settings. Candidates must confirm prior experience in a Competent Person or Authorised Person role and typically hold a managerial or supervisory position (or equivalent).
A “Statement of Site Familiarity / Prior Learning,” verifying at least 45 hours of relevant experience or training, must be provided before attending
