COURSE OVERVIEW.
This SCQF Level 5 Credit Rated training is designed to develop a solid foundation in understanding legionella and other waterborne bacteria, legal obligations, industry guidance, and best practices for monitoring, sampling, and disinfection in water systems.
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
- Recognise the risks posed by legionella, modes of transmission, and strategies to reduce outbreaks
- Apply theoretical knowledge to routine and non-routine workplace scenarios
- Understand statutory regulations and guidance documents related to water hygiene
- Implement monitoring, sampling, and disinfection procedures safely and effectively
- Appreciate the importance of accurate record-keeping and proactive maintenance programs
Who is This Course For?
This course is intended for individuals who have, or intend to have, a “hands-on” role in water hygiene maintenance within healthcare or non-healthcare settings.
No prior qualifications are required, but participants must provide a signed “Statement of Site Familiarity / Prior Learning” verifying at least 16 hours of relevant exposure or training before attending
